Mountain Fold

Valley Fold

1. Take a square sheet of paper (6 in. X 6 in. is a good size) and place the colored side face down; unless both sides are the same color, then it doesn't matter. Valley fold the paper in half, diagonally, vertically, and horizontally.

2. Turn the paper over and valley fold the remaining diagonal.

3. Now collapse the paper along the folds you have made so that it will be a diamond shape (square turned sideways). The original center point of the paper will be the top point of the diamond.

4. With the open side of the diamond pointing down, lift the first layer of paper and mountain fold it under along the dotted lines shown.

5. The diamond should now look like this.

6. Turn the diamond on the otherside, with the open side still pointing down. Folding only the top layer, lift the left and right corners of the diamond and valley fold them along the center line.

7. The form will now look like this.

8. Valley fold the top point down.

9. Unfold the folds you made back to step 6.

9. With the open side still pointing down, lift the top layer of paper up as far as it will go and press it flat, creasing it along the lines you've made before.

7. Valley fold the remaining left and right corners in to meet along the center

8. Valley fold the bottom half up a little less than half way.

13. Press the form flat.

14. Mountain fold the form in half and turn it 90 degrees to look like this picture.

15. Pull the ears up and crease flat.

16. Fold and unfold the tail portion on these dotted lines.

17. Using the creases you've made for the tail, reverse fold inbetween the body to make the tail and little back feet.
